Chaim Medical Resource offers a beacon of hope to patients and their families, even in the most hopeless cases. We unearth treatments, research experimental drugs, and comb through medical records in our quest to discover the hidden key to a cure.
And when there is no apparent path, we Blaze a Trail.
Our 93 staff members in 19 medical departments answer over 900 calls each day. Our budget is $9.3 million per year. Your support enables us to continue Blazing the Trail, and giving patients hope and guidance, no matter how dire their diagnosis or prognosis.
Blazing a Trail in Lakewood
Lakewood patients have long reached out to Chaim Medical Resource. But now we’ve broken new ground in New Jersey. We harnessed our connections to unearth more local experts, so patients can stay close to home whenever possible. And we expanded to serve the Lakewood/Jackson/Tom’s River communities – so we can save more lives and help more patients.
Chaim Medical Resource: A mission and a legacy
Chaim Medical Resource was founded in 2010, in memory of 13-year-old Chaim Kahan a”h, who fell victim to a rare brain tumor. His mother, Mrs. Shevy Kahan, embarked on a mission: she would do everything possible (and impossible!) to spare others from enduring what she’d just gone through. Cholei Yisroel would no longer battle illness alone.
Together with Mrs. Pessy Schlafrig, she established Chaim Medical Resource. The organization quickly mushroomed into a massive medical resource that goes far beyond medical referrals, and has earned the respect of the worldwide medical community.
